Helpdesk Administrator - Monrovia CA, USA

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT professional eager to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience with best practices in the industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to internal staff, troubleshooting IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of the helpdesk system. This position involves working with various applications and systems to analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues. It also requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a proactive approach to IT support. The candidate will collaborate with a team of Systems Administrators on technical design, planning, implementation, and performance tuning of mission-critical desktop and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues via VOIP, email, or ticketing system to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and peripherals
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related problems
  • Document helpdesk requests, solutions, and recurring issues to improve efficiency and support knowledge base
  • Escalate complex technical problems to the appropriate IT teams when necessary
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks on servers and users’ systems to help maintain the infrastructure
  • Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and procurement
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within various IT systems
  • Assist in managing Active Directory infrastructure, mail systems, telephone systems and cabling
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on IT best practices and security policies
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and software deployments as needed
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to enhance support services and optimize system performance
  • Compose detailed step-by-step solution and instructional documentation on common issues for internal reference

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis
  • 1-2 years’ work experience: basic knowledge of PC, network, server, printer, hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Proficient using and troubleshooting Microsoft365–Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Sharepoint
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux and MacOS are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN troubleshooting
  • Experience with Active Directory, group policies, and user account management
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to operate with an upbeat, enthusiastic, and calm demeanor in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and use time productively in a fast-paced environment
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing high-quality IT support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a software development or technology-driven environment
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and endpoint protection solutions
  • Familiarity with remote desktop support tools and cloud-based services
  • Annual salary range $45,000 to $60,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification
